Speaking of the Cascade, they appear to have the most problem with the Blackberry beer in terms of consistency of the fruit/balance of the beer, etc. I'm a huge fan of the berry itself, but have been much more impressed with the Kriek and the Apricot Ale than the Blackberry. (Altho tasters' opinions have varied widely on the Kriek as well.)

We had three winners in the sour tasting, too! No perfect scores, but it was a 3-way tie for 4/5 correct. I didn't hear any "oh, gross" comments on any of the sour beers, mainly "wow, I've never had anything like that before!" Everyone liked the Duchesse, but Consecration and the Grand Cru both got high marks as well. The Cascade/New Belgium didn't do too well.

Oh BS Crew, I do love the sophisticated beer games you play...

I would have suggested Nogne O for the "them" since your preamble made it sound like it was global not just the brits you ended up serving.

So how well did your tasters do? What were their impressions of the sour flight? Did they cotton to any particular beer? And finally, was it the Duchesse that converted the wine drinker? That's my secret weapon whenever I'm dealing with oenophiles whose nose reach a little too skyward when the mere mention of beer is made.
