Rivalry Brewing II: The Call is Answered

You may recall a post made a little more than a year ago on Rivalry Beer, in that case the Texas-brewed “Oklahoma Suks” beer made by Independence Brewing.

A dispatch came in last night from our Canby Office, alerting us to the existence of a “grudge beer,” the Oklahoma-brewed “Texas Sux” beer produced by the equally spelling-challenged brewers at Big Stick Brewing.

On RateBeer, the Oklahoma brewers seems to be leading with a 1.84/5 while the Texans aren’t even rated.

Speaking from first-hand experience with this particular beer, I would say that they are not only spelling-challenged, but also brew-skill challenged.

But then again, I’m from Oregon where beer really is beer and wine drinkers are from California, so I shouldn’t expect so much.

I’ve never had a good-tasting beer from either Oklahoma or Texas. And Texans seem to like their “craft beer” either sweet or light. I guess that’s why there are so many decent homebrewers in those states. They fill the void with their own good brews.

    Happy brewing,
