The Champagne of Blogs

Pick up a copy of today’s Oregonian, and you’ll find inside a special supplement: the Oregon Craft Beer Guide, released just in time for Oregon Beer Month. On page 9, in an article titled “Blogging Oregon Beer,” there’s a mention of this here blog. And while they incorrectly refer to us as “Blog Sober” (our official name is “the Champagne of Blogs”), we’re flattered.

We’re hard at work on some special features for July (did you see our new PDX Beer Calendar in the sidebar?), so stay tuned.

Tyler Lindquist, Alaskan Brewer & Surf God, will be coming to Portland on a “Celebrity Tour.”

… Tyler will again be holding court at “Meet The Brewer/Surfer” sessions at two of the New Seasons stores. The first session is at the Arbor Lodge store from 2:00 to 3:30 with the second session being at the Seven Corners store from 4:00 to 5:30.

Saturday evening will be capped off with another “Alaskan Fishing Derby”, this time at Thatcher’s at SE 79th & Stark. Start time is 7:00.

… At 8:00 … Tyler will be running an “Alaskan Fishing Derby” at Scotty’s on Scholls Ferry Road. This is an opportunity for Alaskan drinkers to hook into a “virtual” 50 lb. King Salmon while hanging out at the bar!

… Tyler will be partnering with Chef Ryan to conduct an “Alaskan Brewer’s Dinner” at McCormicks On Oak. Start time is 6:30. Reservations can be made by calling McCormick’s. The food and beer pairings should be extraordinary!
