Taking a college football rivalry to the next step, a couple of University of Texas alums have brewed up and begun selling OU Suks beer just in time for this weekend’s Texas/Oklahoma game.
Brewed by Austin-based Independence Brewing Co., OU Suks is described as “an amber ale with a full, malty flavor and a laid back finish.” At $16.99 for a 12-pack, I’m guessing football-crazed Texas fans are paying more for the label than the beer inside.
No truth to the rumor that Dave, still bitter from Iowa’s loss to Ohio State, has already started working on a recipe for BS Brewing’s very own Buckeyes Suck pale ale.
Interesting side note: Independence sells a Jasperilla Old Ale named after their dog Jasper. I doubt he’s as cool as BS Brewing’s brew dog Jasper, but at least he has a beer named after him better than Ball Spit Ale.
